The Benefits Of Preschool Coloring Pages
We have beautiful free preschool coloring pages. They are cute and are easy to colour because they have fewer lines to deal with. Perfect for little hands.
How many times have you bought your kids a coloring book? How many times did you think of the benefits coloring actually have for your kids? I've done some research about this to see whether it is worth it to push my son to color in. Even if it is just a little bit. My son hates it. I don't know if it is just a phase and if his bad handwriting is linked to this! This is where the whole research part started. Now, I've included coloring into my son's curriculum. He needs to color in something at least once a week, why? Let's see.
Benefit # 1
Coloring actually practice the skill of holding a pen, pencil or crayon. It develops the very small muscles in the hands and fingers. They say that it even develop large muscle groups in the arms.
Benefit # 2
When your child color in between the set lines, he/she must control their hand to move within the specified area. They need to learn to use their eyes to control their muscles. They develop better hand-eye-coordination. This helps with the pre-reading skill.
Benefit # 3
It teaches patience. I don't think I need to go into this that much. That is also why I think it is better to start with pictures that have fewer lines. We do not want the child to be frustrated. They also have to experience the sense of accomplishment when they've finished their page. Preschool coloring pages should be fun and not dull or boring!
Benefit # 4
It develops planning. At a later stage they start to pre plan what sections they are going to color with what color. They also plan what first, second, third and so on.
Benefit # 5
They learn all about the different colors and copy objects. Like apples can be green, red, yellow etc.
Benefit # 6
It is great tool for any parent. Especially homeschoolers. It can assist you in determining whether your child is ready for writing!
That was enough to convince me that preschool coloring pages are the way to go. Even if it just improves my son's handwriting. PS:It is already showing improvement!
